I am an artist with a passion for creating public art that reflects the unique character and spirit of a community. My work is inspired by the natural beauty of the environment, the energy of people, and the stories that connect us all. I believe that public art has the power to transform spaces, engage the imagination, and foster a sense of belonging.
Inspiration for the Christiansburg Mural came from visits within the Town's limits to: Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church, Old Town Hill, Edgar Long Building, Montgomery Museum of Art & History, Christiansburg Police Department, Town Hall, Downtown Christiansburg monuments and street views, and the newly installed Huckleberry Park (Sports Complex).
I'm from Michigan, and served 21 years in the US Navy. I retired in 2022 and moved to Christiansburg, Virginia with my family.
As a military member, I participated in several public art displays in our work spaces, though documentation is limited.
Most recently, and best documented, I installed a design presented by the AM Association in Pensacola, Florida within the "Mega Building." We are "AIRFRAMES."
I am honored to have worked with such incredible men & women, and for the opportunity to install this design. This design was presented by the schoolhouse for installation in the division peaway (hallway).
